Ashford's 2025 Talented Sportspeople - Update
ALT's Talented Sportspeople are already having great success during the summer season - brief highlights are below:
Marshall Smith- Marshall won the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May—an especially rewarding result after dealing with multiple injuries earlier in the season.
Zara Chappell- In April, Zara competed at the U15 Modern Pentathlon, European Cup in Barcelona where she came 4th.

Jake Phillips- Jake is having an outstanding season and achieving a string of Personal Bests.
Sophie West- Recently, Sophie became the Women’s PTS5 British Paratriathlon Champion 2025.
Ed Smith- Ed has had a great season as goalie for Kent and has been reselected for another season as their #1.
Angus Greenwell- Endurance Karting is a more pure form of racing that focuses on skill, speed and consistency. Angus enjoyed his first Champagne Podium Celebration after coming 2nd in his race.

Maria Sparks- Maria is having a fantastic season so far, she has achieved PBs over 10, 25 and 30 mile time trials.
Bronwyn Yeandle- is having a great season and, in June, beat her personal best at Pole Vault achieving 3m 65cm.
Faye Wills- Faye is a Clay Pigeon shooter and is having a fabulous year. She has won the CCCU Elite Sporting Scholar of the Year, become the Kent Helice ZZ Women's Champion, won the GB Team European Championships, won the Grand Prix of France Women's Gold and taken Women's Team Bronze in Match of Nations (European Championships). She is also currently leading the women's rankings for the GB team for our World Championships in August.
Ellin Wilson- Ellin won the 2k Race Walk at the South East Championships at Crystal Palace in June. She has the England Championships coming up in August.
Emma Tune- Emma's Futsal season has finished now but she is hoping to start pre-season soon. Sadly, she has had a rib injury since the end of season but is looking forward to the England Camp that starts in September.
Elicia Lacey- Elicia competed at the YDL league match in Eltham recently winning her 100m sprint race , 100m hurdles race with a PB and also shot put.
Harvey Gillies - Harvey competes at Duathlon. He competed in Rumia, Poland for the GB Age group team back in April and came 8th. He then took part in his first adult sprint triathlon at Sevenoaks and came 1st in the under 20s age group.
Paula Scales- Paula competes at Short Mat Bowls. Her recent achievements include getting to the semi-finals in the Red Dragon Pairs open competition in Horsham, winning the Hamstreet club ladies singles and getting a place in the England Ladies team for the 2025/2026 season.
