This year our TSP Celebration Event was held on Friday 15th May and we had a wonderful turnout from the selected athletes and their families and friends.
Overall we were able to support a total of 32 talented sportspeople from the Borough with a grant payment of £500, access to the Freedom Leisure Sports Facilities and a bespoke sports top.
Our guest speaker this year was Callie-Ann Warrington, an Ashford resident and Paralympic Swimmer. Her presentation about her career gave us an insight into her determination to overcome her disability and the hurdles and challenges that she's had to face, to ultimately end up a world champion.
We were joined at the event by the Mayor of Ashford, Cllr Lyn Suddards, who presented the certificates and sports tops to our talented sportspeople, and who seemed amazed at the array of sporting talent that we have in Ashford.
